Makers Make Parlor is a private, one-on-one studio. There is no front desk, no waiting area full of strangers, and no stylist bouncing between three clients at once. When you are here, you have Rachel’s full attention from the moment you walk in.
Every appointment starts with a real conversation about your hair, your life, and what you actually want it to do. The goal is never just a good result on the day. It is hair that works for you consistently, in between visits and long after them.

Wash or don’t. It really doesn’t matter.
Hair that is a day or two past a wash is actually ideal to work with. If you want to wash it the day before, go for it. Just do not stress about it.
Come as you are. The consultation is where we start figuring things out together, and that works better when your hair is in its natural state anyway.
If you have reference photos, bring them. Screenshots on your phone are totally fine. They help start the conversation even when words are hard to find.
Please arrive with your hair freshly washed and styled naturally. No buns, no braids, no blowouts.
Curly cuts happen on dry, natural hair. The shape has to be visible and working the way it normally does before any cutting starts. That is how the cut actually works with your curl instead of against it.
Curly cuts are priced the same as any other haircut at Makers. No upcharge just because you have curls. The price only changes if you need an extended styling lesson, or if we need to prep your hair before cutting because it arrived in a style we cannot work from.

Meet Honey
The parlor pup may be in.
Honey is the Makers Make Parlor pup and, depending on the day, she may be hanging out at the salon bringing very serious emotional support energy.
She is sweet, mellow, and usually more interested in good vibes than anything else. Clients tend to love her, but she is never a requirement for enjoying your appointment.
If you have allergies, a fear of dogs, or would just rather keep your appointment pup-free, let me know in the message box when you book and I will make sure Honey is not there when you come in. No questions asked.
